Our Practice

We practice acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), offering these therapies either independently or in combination, depending on the needs of each patient.

Our primary acupuncture approach is rooted in Japanese techniques, which are known for their gentleness, precision, and patient-centered focus. This style utilizes ultra-fine needles inserted with a guide tube, making treatments well-suited for individuals with heightened sensitivity. Japanese acupuncture emphasizes careful diagnosis through abdominal palpation and pulse assessment to create highly personalized treatment plans. It often incorporates moxibustion (the warming of acupuncture points with mugwort herb), cupping, and the use of shallow needling techniques to promote the body’s natural healing processes.

For certain conditions, we may integrate traditional Chinese acupuncture methods, which involve deeper needle insertion to target specific issues. When addressing muscular problems, we employ intramuscular trigger point dry needling techniques. Regardless of the method used, every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to the patient’s unique needs and comfort level.

For children and infants, we use gentle, non-invasive methods such as acupressure, laser therapy or blunt, non-insertive Shonishin tools—traditional tools from Japan specifically designed for pediatric care. These approaches can also be adapted for adults who are needle-sensitive or needle-phobic.

In herbal medicine, we follow the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), prescribing synergistic formulas that have been safely used in China for centuries. These formulas are customized to meet the unique needs of each patient. Herbal preparations are available as pills, capsules, tinctures, or powders, sourced from reputable companies adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP-certified in Canada). All ingredients are rigorously tested for authenticity, heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants to ensure safety and efficacy.
